Tracy Kahn,
Early Childhood Music Specialist
Tracy has been teaching early childhood music classes since 2004. Her formal training to teach young children comes from the internationally acclaimed music program, Music Together®. After the initial training, which changed the trajectory of her life, she spent many consecutive years going to trainings & workshops in order to hone her skills and knowledge about teaching young children and their caregivers’ music. She taught this program for 18 amazing years, and once her employer closed their doors, Tracy began her own music classes. She has learned many new songs by amazing singer/songwriters in the early childhood field, and she has spent time with them online, in person and via chatting which has been a real thrill!

However, this is not where her passion for music started! She has been playing guitar and singing since she was 13 years old. Song leading in a youth group, college sorority at the University of Florida, and singing in many musicals during high school helped mold her heart and soul for singing and music performance. It wasn’t until she became a mom, singing all day with her first child, and going to mommy and me classes, that Tracy saw a new avenue to make music again. What a joy, pleasure and true honor to share music with parents and caregivers!
Tracy earned her bachelor’s degree in the school of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida, and after a few years, she returned to the classroom at FAU to get a degree in Education. She is a certified Music Together® instructor and worked at Nova Southeastern University’s Mailman Segal Center- Parenting Place for 18 years teaching various parent/child classes. She has also been the preschool music and movement teacher at a Plantation preschool since 2013. Tracy takes tremendous pride in her years of experience and knowledge supporting families, their parenting journeys and teaching music to children.
Tracy lives in Plantation with her husband of 30 years and has 2 grown children. She plays guitar, sings, works out and loves the beach and ice cream! She loves spending time with her family and cannot wait to meet yours soon.
